Stephanie Wille is a native German speaker from Bad Hersfeld, Germany. In 2010, she received her B.A. in English and Celtic Studies at the University of Bonn, Germany, before proceeding with her master’s degree in North American Studies. She was granted a Graduate Direct Exchange Scholarship in 2011, which brought her to the University of Kansas. At the University of Kansas, she took classes in Film and Media Studies and decided to complete her master’s degree in film at KU. Since 2012, Stephanie has been a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, where she has taught Elementary German I and II. In addition, she is also the vice president of the Graduate Association of German Students (GAGS) and has tutored students of Elementary German I at the Academic Achievement and Access Center (AAAC). Every Saturday, Stephanie teaches the “Sterne” class for ages 13 to adult at the German School of Northeast Kansas. Stephanie will begin her second master’s degree in German in spring 2014. In her teaching career, she wants to combine her passion for film and German to teach German language and culture through film.
