Bio: Amaia Villegas received a BA in “Language, Culture, and Society” at UC Santa Barbara and studied linguistics at the University of Virginia. She considers herself to be a perpetual student and firmly believes that everyone has something to teach. Linguistics, anthropology, and human cognition fascinate her, and she will be pursuing a doctorate to further explore these research interests.

Amaia delights in hearing variety in language through the brief narratives that people recount. When she is not studying, she can be found furthering her flamenco education with as many dancers as possible.
