Bio: Betty Moulton (president of VASTA 2016-18) has been an actor, voice teacher, and coach for more than 40 years in the United States and Canada. Teaching in professional actor training programs includes Southern Methodist University, the University of Washington, the University of Victoria (Canada), and the University of Alberta (Canada), where she also devised and ran the MFA program in Theatre Voice Pedagogy, training new voice specialists. She is now retired (professor emerita) and continues her career-long professional practice with private coaching for actors in dialects and audition preparation, and with businessmen and women for vocal challenges and presentation skills.
Her professional credits as company voice, speech, and text coach/director include: 37 Shakespeare productions over 10 seasons for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, in Boulder, Colorado; a variety of original productions, including the internationally touring Nevermore, for Catalyst Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta; and Pride and Prejudice, As You Like It, The Three Musketeers, and Little Women for the Citadel Theatre/Banff professional training program, Banff/Edmonton.
