Bio: Elizabeth Montoya-Stemann is Voice & Speech and Acting Lecturer (12 years as a permanent lecturer) at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica. She received her BFA in Drama at the Teatro Libre de Bogotá Escuela in Bogotá, Colombia. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and has traveled throughout India, Denmark, Spain, and other countries, researching methods of teaching voice production.
She also hold an MPhil in Linguistics at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. Her research analyzes issues that future Jamaican performers display when presenting a poetic text written in Standard English and their level of confidence. She enjoys researching accents and their idiosyncrasies.
