I’m 28 years old. I was born in Kazakhstan, Aktobe in 1992. I studied English in my kindergarten and in gymnasium. Later I studied in musical college and conservatory. After graduation, I moved to Amsterdam, and I still live here. Today is my third Christmas in the Netherlands.
I am musical teacher. I teach solfeggio, history of music, theory of music. I like reading books, watching TV shows in English; it improved my knowledge a lot. Also I have had English lessons for a half of a year already, and I’m happy because now my grammar is not based on intuition anymore!
[The subject speaks Russian]: мой основной язык – это русский. Aaa, я прожила практически большую часть своей жизни в Казахстане, 19 лет. Потом я жила 5 лет в Саратове и вот последние 3 года я живу в Амстердаме, где люди вокруг разговаривают в основном на английском. Спасибо за внимание, до новых встреч! The archive provides:
- Recordings of accent/dialect speakers from the region you select.
- Text of the speakers’ biographical details.
- Scholarly commentary and analysis in some cases.
- In most cases, an orthographic transcription of the speakers’ unscripted speech. In a small number of cases, you will also find a narrow phonetic transcription of the sample (see Phonetic Transcriptions for a complete list). The recordings average four minutes in length and feature both the reading of one of two standard passages, and some unscripted speech. The two passages are Comma Gets a Cure (currently our standard passage) and The Rainbow Passage (used in our earliest recordings).
