At the time of this recording, the subject had participated in a six-month linguistic exchange in the United States and had also spent 11 months studying for his master’s degree in language teaching in Colombia. Other than that, he has never lived outside Paraguay. (He was born in Colonia Yguazú, a town just to the west of the larger Ciudad del Este, in southeast Paraguay, where he grew up.)
