Um, so this evening I’m going to learn, um, Japanese lesson and, with a friend; after that we’re going to McDonald’s and eat. And I learn Japanese because I want to hear animes, and just so to hear it and don’t need to read the subtitles, so, um, but when I’m going, when I’m older, I’m going to be a game designer if I can. And I want to go to Japan and work there for a game-design, um, “unternehmig” [company]. [My hobbies are] programming, watching animes, reading mangas, and gaming, so just these things. And, um, game I prefer military game type but not horror games. I’m really scared of … from them, and, um, but I like shooter very well, because you can just turn your head off and play, dont have to think, just relax and play; and strategy is also, well, because you can turn your head on and think about it, to learn how to beat the enemies, so it’s nice also, also nice.

The archive provides:
- Recordings of accent/dialect speakers from the region you select.
- Text of the speakers’ biographical details.
- Scholarly commentary and analysis in some cases.
- In most cases, an orthographic transcription of the speakers’ unscripted speech. In a small number of cases, you will also find a narrow phonetic transcription of the sample (see Phonetic Transcriptions for a complete list). The recordings average four minutes in length and feature both the reading of one of two standard passages, and some unscripted speech. The two passages are Comma Gets a Cure (currently our standard passage) and The Rainbow Passage (used in our earliest recordings).
